Since we collected the audio samples in Samburu last year, some of the biggest house and afro-house music producers have been hard at work crafting the Samburu vocals into their signature sound. With less than a month to go for the launch event and release of the VA, the compilation is looking and sounding very special.

The 19 track VA will feature music from; Da Capo, Caiiro, Shimza, Laoulu, Armonica, Xtetiqsoul, Max Doblhoff, Stefan Obermaier, K.E.E.N.E, Umami, Klement Bonnelli, SURAJ, Foozak, Dylan-S, Euggy, St Evo, Lawrence Dix, Sifa, Vitu Shenzi.

Exploring a wide range of sonic array on this VA, there is a track on it for everyone’s taste.

Our launch event will take place on the 30th of November at The Alchemist Bar, a venue that has been a nurturing ground for Midi Minds Kenya in our early years, we will be transforming the place to host 6 artists that featured on the VA, 4 from Kenya (SURAJ, Dylan-S, Foozak & Euggy) and 2 international acts (Armonica and Xtetiqsoul).

We will also be hosting an invite-only documentary screening before the night begins. If you wish to attend this please fill out the form here and we will get back to you with an invite.

The classroom in Samburu is underway, the funds raised from the event will complete the building – with your help.

Tickets are available for this from our partner Mookh:

The trailer for our mini-documentary is now online, narrated by our very own Foozak, and put together by our video partner Backdrop Agency – a leading visual outfit based in Nairobi. Find it here:
